SUMMIT COUNTY MEDICAL SOCIETY LEADS A SEARCH FOR THE UNINSURED TO AFFORD LABWORK FEES

When a patient is given orders for lab work by his doctor, many times those lab orders are ignored because lab fees are, frankly, unaffordable if the patient has no insurance. A special projects coordinator was established by the Summit County Medical Society to find ways to help those patients receive the tests they need.
Pioneer Physicians Network has stepped forward and met the challenge to help those in our community. Beginning August 3, 2009, lab services will be available at PPN Lab Sites at rates which will be much more affordable for those without health insurance.
Lab services will be available at the Pioneer Central Laboratory in Tallmadge, Columbia Woods Medical Group in Norton, and the South Main Street Medical Center location in Green.
Patients may call to schedule appointments for lab orders at any of these sites. A draw fee of $5.00 will be charged. The fee schedule for the most common lab orders are listed on the lab fee schedule below; the fee schedule will give an example of expected charges.
Patients must pay at the time of service with cash, check, or credit card. Our receptionists at each site will assist you when you call to schedule an appointment.
Test results will be sent directly to the ordering physician.
